Quality
We strive for excellence and craftsmanship and believe you can taste this in every cup of coffee. In the Netherlands it is quite normal to start your day with a cup of coffee. However, many people do not think about the path our coffee has taken before it ends up in the cup. Quality is (hopefully) a given. Quality starts with the coffee bean from the coffee farmer and goes through the roasting process to your cup.
The arabica coffee plant is a tropical plant species and needs specific conditions to grow optimally. A coffee farmer must have a lot of patience, as a coffee plant does not produce berries for the first time until at least three years and sometimes even after five years. Thus, many coffee plants are needed to meet the rapidly increasing demand.
The production process of coffee is very labor intensive. To ensure the quality of coffee, it is up to the coffee farmer to take good care of the coffee plants. In addition, picking only the ripe coffee berries is essential to the quality of the final coffee. Because the coffee plant can bear both unripe green berries, ripe red berries and overripe berries at the same time, hand picking is the most appropriate harvesting method. Through this method, the coffee farmer ensures that only the best red and ripe coffee beans are harvested, this benefits the quality of the coffee.
We like personal contact and believe in long-term relationships. Therefore, we select our own plantations and in this way have direct contact with the coffee farmers. In cooperation with them and by paying a fair price for the coffee, we contribute to improving living conditions on the plantation and in the region. Through education, knowledge and innovation, coffee farmers can improve quality and continue to deliver.
We value good quality coffee, which is why we roast only fresh coffees daily in our own roastery using traditional methods. Our roasting masters test a lot before establishing a roasting profile for each type of coffee. Because coffee is a natural product, we continuously monitor our quality. By continuing to test our roasted coffee daily, we can adjust the roasting process if necessary to ensure the quality and taste that Boot stands for.
With Boot coffee, you can enjoy the best fresh-roasted arabica coffee harvests, the coffee farmer from a fair price and his plantation workers from ever-improving training and housing in their regions.
