"Where can you experience that the coffee farmer from far away comes to visit you in your own store and roastery? Right, at Boot Koffie!" beams Barend Boot proudly. After visits from coffee farmers from Rwanda and Bolivia this year (their coffee will be available soon!), our friend and well-known coffee farmer Ricardo Koyner from Panama is visiting us. Our top Panamaria(espresso and filter) comes from his Finca. Saturday he visited the Boot coffee shop Baarn and our roastery in Amersfoort.

Ricardo is an artisan from head to toe. Three years ago he was voted the best coffee farmer in Panama. Every year Ricardo invents something so that the coffee tastes even better. He experiments with many arabica varieties. His Panamaria coffee grows at 1650 meters altitude on the slopes of the Baru volcano. Boot coffee has been importing Panamaria coffee for more than 25 years now and has been working with Ricardo for 20 years. Ricardo also takes very good care of his staff and pickers with various social impact programs (which in turn makes Boot Koffie very happy!). Ricardo has also recently become a cocoa farmer and, in addition to several coffee shops, now has a chocolate boutique in Panama. He is now also experimenting with many cocoa varieties. Hopefully soon available in our webshop and the coffee shop in Baarn.
