What started as a coffee trip ended in a disaster area. Rick talks about floods in Sumatra and the strength of the community around Ketiara.

Some people feel instantly familiar at BOOT. Nicole is one of them. She previously worked here for eight years, knew the brand as a supplier before that and now returns at just the right time. For her, BOOT is not a place where you "work," but a place where you build together - on quality, on relationships and on the entire chain behind a cup of coffee.

When you open a bag of BOOT coffee, you see an origin, a flavor description and a glimpse of our story. What you don't see are the days on the road. The waiting. The moments when you decide not to do something yet. And it's precisely there (far away from the packaging) that determines why our coffee is the way it is.

Here we go.... First, also on behalf of Moccamaster, Aya & Ida and Koffiecanners, we thank everyone for participating in the BOOT Coffee Game. A record number of participants participated again this year! The wheel of the digital draw has been spinning, under the watchful eye of Darja and Stefan. We won't leave you in suspense any longer....

In early 2025, our coffee buyer Rick Maas traveled again to Panama. The road to the Hartmann plantation is one to remember: winding through the jungle, past beautiful nature, with the song of crickets in the background at night. As always, Rick was warmly received by the hospitable Hartmann family, with whom we have had a close relationship for many years.

During several cupping rounds, Rick tasted dozens of coffees, but one stood out immediately: the Panama Hartmann Natural - Lot 33. The special natural process the family used this year gave the coffee a distinct character: super juicy, berry, sweet and very pleasant. Rick was immediately convinced: "I had to buy this coffee, so you can taste it too!"

How time flies, it's already November! The days are getting shorter and the temperature is starting to drop. In the morning I put on my winter coat and gloves and cycle towards BOOT Koffie in Baarn. Time for a new working day: making people happy with our delicious coffee. It is cold on the bike, so I long for a cup of coffee myself to warm up.
