Autumn has begun. The days are getting shorter, the pace is dropping slightly, and the smell of freshly ground coffee feels like coming home. A great time to mindfully taste what is harvested. And, nice to reflect on how flavors can enhance each other.

Our Brazil Santos is a coffee with notes of chocolate, nuts, brown sugar and stone fruit. So, what do you eat with a coffee like that? We dove into the kitchen with a simple dish that anyone can make....

Roasted figs with walnuts and honey

Ingredients (for 2-3 people):
- 6 ripe figs
- 2 tbsp. honey or maple syrup
- a handful of walnuts or pecans
- a pinch of cinnamon
- a dash of olive oil
- optional: a spoonful of greek or turkish yogurt or ricotta

Preparation:
1. Heat the oven to 180°C.
2. Cut the figs crosswise and place them in an oven dish.
3. Drizzle with honey, olive oil and a little cinnamon.
4. Sprinkle walnuts on top.
5. Roast for 10-12 minutes, until everything is fragrant and soft.
6. Serve warm, with a spoonful of yogurt or ricotta, if desired.

The caramel-like honey highlights the brown-sugar notes of the coffee, the nuts totally match the aroma, and the fruit of the fig makes the coffee come alive. A fantastic fall combination!
