The other day there was a Coffee Trial Day at the Coffee Shop in Baarn. A beautiful day full of sunshine, delicious filter coffee and demonstrations. With my love for filter coffee, of course my day couldn't fail! All day making delicious filter coffee and handing it out to our guests.

Our guests watch the AeroPress demonstrations with interest. For brewing we use our organic Colombia Kachalu with flavors of cane sugar, chocolate and dried fruit. Very nice also to get a lot of positive feedback this week from some customers who bought the AeroPress. "The coffee really comes out of the AeroPress so nicely. And I'm pleasantly surprised how good the filter coffee tastes with this simple tool. It's definitely going with me on vacation!" said a satisfied test day visitor.

In the meantime, guests enjoy a filter coffee made with ice cubes on the terrace outside, a so-called 'flash brew'. In short, a day on which we highlighted our beautiful filter range.

One of these coffees is the Colombia Kachalu, a coffee with a special story. The coffee comes from a cooperative made up of about 60 small coffee farmers in Colombia. Their main goal is to grow organic coffee, focusing on care for the rainforest and a fair coffee price for the individual farmers. We have been working with the Kachalu cooperative since 2005 as Boot Koffie.

For coffee rated above 84+ or 85+ points, the coffee farmer receives an extra bonus. This year Boot Koffie increased the bonus extra to give an even better price as a reward for the higher quality and as additional compensation for growing organic coffee.

Want to learn even more about our coffees and how to brew them perfectly at home? Check out the new Boot Koffie Brew Guide or ask our baristas in the store, they are happy to give you advice. You can taste the Colombia Kachalu all month long in the store.
