Boot Koffie has a strong social mission focused on fair coffee: making everyone happy with the taste of coffee, publicizing the name of the coffee farmer and helping to improve living conditions on the coffee plantation by paying a fair purchase price to the coffee farmer. Our long-term goal is for coffee farmers to be co-owners of Boot Koffie.

We pay the coffee farmers at least 30% to as much as 50% above the prevailing Fair Trade coffee prices. A higher purchase price therefore also leads to a higher selling price. Fair and green trade is in the DNA of Boot Koffie. The customers of Boot Koffie know that farmers in developing countries have received a fair price. The fair price enables farmers to invest in sustainable development. Think of productivity improvements, a clean environment, good education and better health care.

We buy directly from the coffee farmer or work with a purchasing organization that buys coffee directly from the farmer on behalf of Boot.

All farmers working for Boot Koffie work primarily organically and with attention to nature, biodiversity (Rainforest Alliance) and safe conditions. The SKAL EKO label indicates that the coffee beans come from organic farming. Organic farming standards are based on preserving the environment, nature and landscape.
