Who are you and what is your position at Boot?
My name is Arnout de la Rambelje and I am a coffee roaster at Boot. In addition to roasting the finest espresso and filter coffee, I am jointly responsible for its quality control. I am also responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the roastery.

Why do you work with coffee?
I got into the coffee business once by chance, in a commercial position at a large coffee roaster. I didn't actually know anything about coffee; I just drank it. There I saw all the processes required before coffee is ready to be brewed at all. Later I started working at a manufacturer of filter coffee machines, Moccamaster. During the corona period, I bought a small coffee roaster and started experimenting. From there I began to delve further into the roasting process, and so my true passion for coffee was born. Coffee brings emotion, connects people and makes life a little finer for many. That's why I love working with coffee. By roasting coffee in the best way possible, I bring a little happiness to a cup through flavor.

What is your most memorable moment as a coffee professional?
We recently got a new machine for roasting large quantities of coffee. A Probat G70 with the latest technology, the Rolls Royce among coffee roasters. There is only one model of this machine and it's at Boot! It's cool to be able to work with the latest equipment.

In your opinion, what is a coffee that everyone should try?
I am a true filter coffee drinker. For me, the Ethiopia filter is a real winner because of its delicious citrus aromas and complex flavors. Moreover, this coffee is certified organic, which is both good for people and the environment.
