Dear coffee lovers,

We'll get right to the point: as of November 1, 2021, the price of coffee will go up. We have postponed this as long as possible (because of Corona), but have now reached a point where we are forced to change it.

Why?
The reason is climate change. There is a lot going on in the coffee world right now. More extreme weather conditions such as: excessive rainfall, many droughts, heat and frost are threatening coffee plants so also harvests.
Drought can damage the ripening fruit and too much rain during the delicate flowering phase causes the flowers to be damaged. This is bad for the development of the fruit.

No flowers means no coffee berries.

The solution is to move the plantations to a higher area. Here the weather is more constant. In addition to logistics, planting new coffee plants and actually harvesting them is a five-year plan. We will support the farmers in this process by thinking along with them and visiting them.

A recent example is Brazil. Due to frost, a large part of the harvest was lost.

What does this mean for you?
As of November 1, prices are going up. In practice, the increase will mean that the price per cup will rise by between approximately 1.4 and 2 cents. It is becoming increasingly apparent that people want to drink special, honest and good coffee and are willing to pay more for it.

Good tasting, creative thinking with the farmers, paying the right price and you as the customer ensure that we can continue to offer a nice assortment. We are proud of this! Enjoy your delicious cup of coffee even more.

Happiness through taste,

Team Boot Koffie
