Dragan Bakema is an extraordinary actor. He is also a fan of our coffee. And when I see Dragan with Boot coffee, I see absolute enjoyment. Then I see a momentum of happiness through taste.

When I heard about the solo role Dragan is playing in the theater play Taste about the 3 Michelin starred chef Jonathan Kelvin who loses his taste, I wanted to go there. I experienced the final try out last week. The world premiere of Taste in the Amsterdome was Saturday, October 9. *

The culinary theater piece Taste is smashing, more than the absolute must see. Your senses are touched in all facets.

I am a coffee roaster. My absolute drive is to put down the best, most layered cup of specialty coffee and let others enjoy it, give their happiness experience. And I know this terrain! The power of smelling the fragrances and tasting all the flavors is a gateway to the soul and to be completely connected to the now. And that is so wonderful to experience every time and to be so connected to the other person in that moment in that experience as well.

Imagine: The taste of silence.

How delicate is this subject? Just try to portray it in all its facets.

With his play Dragan draws me into my soul.

Where was I as a twelve-year-old when I perceived my senses so clearly? Those moments I remember like yesterday. I remember the cooling tray of my father's coffee roaster, the tasting table and the smells of green and roasted coffee around it. And that first moment of the whiff of freshly brewed filter coffee in the porcelain cup. With that delicate layering of mint, chocolate, orange unfolding like a story in my nose. And the voice of my father behind the door as he speaks to his staff about coffee. Or the absurdly delicious flavors when I first got to lick the batter bowl from my mother as a little boy. The flowery wine-like smells of the La Mula Geisha coffee from Willem, my brother.

Taste, the culinary theater piece with Dragan Bakema, strikes me in my essence: Taste in, with, of and for the soul.

During and or before the performance your senses will be caressed by beautifully layered composed bites and dishes, designed by Michelin star chef Jacob Jan Boerma. The live music by Joep Beving is perfect in beauty and rapture. And there are other great surprises.

Taste, the 360-degree culinary theater experience, delivers what it promises.

It is a once in a lifetime experience. See *www.taste360theatre.com
