Coffee of the Month March 2024 - Brazil Santos Espresso
It's high time again! This time I have the new coffee of the month'Brazil Santos Espresso' on my coffee grinder at home. That means recalibrating the grinder and again enjoying all the flavors in this coffee. A treat for me, a disaster for others.

I know that the Brazil Santos needs to be ground coarser than, say, the Colombia Kachalu or the Panama Birdsong, on this I can already adjust the grind setting. Then I use my standard recipe to start with: 18 g coffee, 36 g/ml espresso. I start with a brewing time of 25 seconds. Then I taste the coffee: the flavor notes for me are hazelnut, caramel, chocolate and stone fruit.

If the coffee is too bitter, I run the coffee shorter. If the coffee has too much acidity, I let the coffee run longer. Furthermore, you can determine the strength by playing with the ratio of water to coffee. I personally use the Eureka Mignon coffee grinder and an espresso machine with E61 brewing group. By adjusting the grinder more often, you learn how to make the best espresso at home.

The Brazil Santos is a coffee we are proud of. It is an all-rounder full of beautiful flavors and a unique balance. By the way, the name Santos does not come from the name of the plantation, but from the port through which most of the coffee harvests from Brazil are exported to Europe. So what are you waiting for? Be enchanted by Brazilian coffee and brew this coffee just the way you like it. Can't figure it out? Ask our baristas for tips & tricks or follow one of our workshops.
