When we asked actor Dragan Bakema if he wanted to participate in a coffee cupping he enthusiastically replied "yes please". We sent him the Panamaria Espresso and inspired him to write a beautiful story on his instagram about his introduction to Boot Koffie. Happiness through taste.

Dragan Bakema:

"I find the question "How much coffee do you drink a day?" secondary to the question "What coffee were you drinking when you tasted the difference between good and regular coffee?" Where were you then? For me, that was 18 years ago. At the time I was happily living in Baarn on the Spoorstraat, a few steps away from coffee shop Boot, where an acquaintance of mine worked. One day I walked in and was served a cup of Ethiopian coffee, black without sugar, took a sip and thought, "Ah, this is what they mean".

In the ten years that followed, I went through all the home-barista phases known to men. When Boot asked me the other day if I wanted to participate in a coffee cupping I said; "yes please", but I had to make a side note. My coffee hobby has been on hold since the arrival of my children (as has my tapped bag of coffee beans). My Isomac and Mazzer grinder have made way for three Jura's in Amsterdam, in the living room at the office and now there is one in Serbia as well. I went from all the focus on the perfect cup of coffee, to daddy push-button coffee. "That doesn't matter, does it?" they said. Delicious. Folks, I don't know what coffee you drink at home, let alone out of doors now that we're hardly allowed to. But if coffee means anything more to you than "how many" you drink a day, give Boot a try. For those of you who already do; yummy huh. And yes, in all honesty, I am temporarily sponsored by Boot, but with coffee, not money. More on that later when I'll be touring europe on my motorcycle for three weeks and camping solo.

Boat, thanks for that."
