Boot Koffie Ride

Join us for the Boot Koffie Ride!
Cycling and coffee. This beautiful tradition is centuries old. Now that we are loosening up a bit from all restrictions, this seems like the perfect time to organize a fun bike ride in cooperation with Scuderia La Marzocco. Two routes both starting and ending at our roastery in front of Het Lokaal in Amersfoort. You can choose whether you go for the ''easy'' short route or the advanced long route. Both routes have a stop in Bunschoten where you (of course) get our coffee, made with a La Marzocco mini in a crazy old coffee van!

The Hartmann family expands with Mi Finquita

For over twenty years we have been engaged in a romance with the Hartmann family in Panama. Our famous coffees like the Panama Birdsong, Hartmann Natural and the Mi Finquita are produced by the Hartmann family. The so-called 'Hartmann Estate' stands like a house and provides space for Ratibor Hartmann and his wife Tessie to start their own project, called 'Mi Finquita'. This project is now several years underway and can be seen as a small cooperative where Ratibor and Tessie help other farmers to improve the quality and sell the coffee. In this blog you can read a small piece from the coffeeTcacao magazine (www.koffietcacao.nl), which our colleague Dennis wrote for. This piece is about the journey we make every year to buy from Mi Finquita, among others.

Coffee song 'Ruik de struik' by Barend Boot

Why this coffee song "Smell the Shrub". I have a simple answer : "With a song I can touch you and the coffee drinker with my coffee desire. Will you help pass this on? "

I have been a coffee roaster for more than 30 years, from the Dutch family business Boot Koffie, from Baarn. The smell and taste of specialty coffee from special arabica coffee bushes can be impressive, overwhelmingly smooth, powerful and moving. To live that experience and to experience the richness of stories of coffee farmers and their pickers, and to realize the inspiration of coffee roasters and baristas, is what I want to convey to coffee drinkers.
