An inside look at the Brazilian Fazenda Sao Francisco Bela Vista
A huge amount of coffee is grown in Brazil. The country is the largest coffee producer in the world. At 59 million 60-kilo bales, the last harvest was a lot higher than the previous harvest. So you would say: plenty of coffee. But Brazil is now also experiencing a major drought. There has been 60% less rainfall. That drought is disrupting the development of coffee bushes and berries for the upcoming harvest.
Our buyer (and quality controller) Rick visited the Sao Francisco Bela Vista Fazenda a good month ago. ("fazenda" means farm). This coffee plantation is where our Brazil Santos Espresso is grown. And here too, the consequence of the drought is very visible.
The purpose of this trip for BOOT is to get an up-to-date picture of how quality and sustainability are being promoted. Of course, we will also be there to taste some lots from the new harvest.
And the winners of the BOOT Coffee Game are....
Here we go.... First, also on behalf of Jura, KTC Magazine and Stanley, we thank everyone tremendously for participating in the BOOT Coffee Game. Never before have so many people participated! Darja, under the watchful eye of Barend, determined the winners via a digital draw. We won't leave you in suspense any longer....These are the lucky winners of the BOOT Coffee Game:
Ethiopia Organic for home or work
A smooth, light cup of filter coffee brewed with the AeroPress and a sachet of Ethiopia Organic Filter: the ideal way to enjoy BOOT Coffee as during my past vacation in England. Starting the day with a cup of Ethiopia Organic Espresso from the Pezzetti Espresso Jug, for example, is also an easy and delicious way to enjoy a tasty cup of coffee at home or at work. Some often avoid a milder coffee, but by using the right brewing method, the delicious flavors of the coffee can be properly released, as with our "Ethiopia.
Coffee processing methods
We have been purchasing different types and sizes of coffee beans since 1973. These coffee beans are grown in different tropical countries. The country, climate, altitude and how you roast a coffee greatly affects the flavors you taste in your cup. What also plays a big role is the processing method you apply to the coffee bean after picking it. A coffee bean or actually coffee berry is always processed before it makes the crossing to our country.
You've probably heard of washed coffee and unwashed coffee. But what does this mean? And what does a processing method do to the taste of the coffee?
Caffeine-free is (too) crazy!
BOOT Coffee's mission of "Happiness through Taste" also extends to the field of decaffeinated. There are many reasons why people drink decaffeinated coffee. For me, for example, it's because I still want to be able to sleep but also enjoy delicious coffee. After years of searching and setbacks, I joined a company with a golden bag, BOOT Coffee. Our decaffeinated coffee is already different from many others in the base. High quality green coffee is used. Then it is processed into black gold with great care and attention.

Introductions - Alejandro Stalpers
This time it's the turn of our Alejandro. The always cheerful (yes, really), hospitable barista and trainer has a passion for all things coffee. You can see this in his beautiful Latte Art creations, informative coffee training and taste it in the precision brewed cups of coffee.
In your opinion, what is a coffee that everyone should try?
Well... From the regular range, I like to drink the Indonesia Sumatra Organic. Usually brewed in the morning as a filter with my V60 filter dripper and later in the day at the Coffee Shop & Bar as espresso. This organic certified all-male friend with flavors of intense, chocolate, black currant and spicy is just super tasty and I gladly recommend it!
