1. 1. Of course, the quality of a good cup of coffee depends first and foremost on the quality and freshness of the coffee itself!

  2. 2. To ensure that your cup of coffee is as fresh as possible, we especially recommend that you don't buy too much coffee at once. Buy quantities that will last you one to two weeks.

  3. 3. Store the coffee in its original container in a tightly sealed can.

  4. 4. Ground coffee quickly loses its freshness. It is therefore even better to buy beans and grind your coffee yourself with a good grinder. And this way you will enjoy that wonderful freshly ground aroma every time.

  5. 5. In addition, you can contribute to a good cup yourself by making sure your coffee maker is clean, you use soft (filtered) water, and the coffee has the right grind fineness.

  6. 6. Hard water contains alkalines that neutralize the fine coffee flavor. The purchase of a water filter (e.g. from Brita) is definitely worth considering in case of hard water.

  7. 7. If you leave freshly brewed coffee on the hot plate of your coffee maker for too long, it will become bitter in taste.

  8. 8. If you want to store freshly brewed filter coffee, prefer to do so in a preheated thermos.

  9. 9. If using a paper filter, it is important to rinse it warm for a while before brewing coffee, so that any fibers and side flavors are washed away.

  10. 10. The coffee that passes through the filter first is stronger than the last bit. Therefore, stir the coffee briefly before pouring it out.
