Who are you and what is your role at Boot?
Hi, I am Vincent van Dijk and in my role as account manager at Boot Koffie I manage (together with my immediate colleagues Darja and Dennis) with great pleasure and passion, our business customers. These "ambassadors" of our coffees are hospitality venues, but certainly also resellers (delicatessens, cooking stores, organic supermarkets) and of course offices.

Why do you work with coffee?
Coffee is a very captivating gift from nature; especially Specialty Coffee. The dedication and love of every link in the chain of this quality coffee is so special! From the coffee farmer to you and I as a consumer, you feel and taste the love for the product. The craft, the knowledge, the influences of nature and environment (climate, soil conditions) are so decisive for the pure flavors and aromas, that this must be treated with the utmost care and love. And that is what everyone here at Boot Koffie strives for. That's what makes me happy. Surely everyone wants to work in such an environment!

What is your most memorable moment as a coffee professional?
Haha, that's a fun one...That was when I drank Italian roasted coffee again for the first time, after being introduced to the flavors of Specialty Coffee. I will never forget that bitter, burnt taste and is also something I prefer to walk around with a wide bow. I compare it to a toasted sandwich that is too dark: you scrape off the black and still eat it.... By the way, this was at a nice catering location, with a good coffee machine; but unfortunately bad beans.

In your opinion, what is a coffee that everyone should try?
From our regular selection, it is definitely the Java Espresso. Java is nicknamed "spice island." And that is exactly what you taste in this coffee: speculoos, spices, nuts. Highly recommended for any time of day. As a Limited, I was previously very surprised by the Hartmann Natural from Panama. Since Friday, March 15, the new crop is available in the online store and in the Coffee Shop. You just have to taste that one! Let it cool a bit and it's like wine what you experience!
