Boot Koffie was founded 50 years ago in Baarn by Jacob Boot, pioneer in Europe in the field of specialty coffee. Since the early 1990s, son Barend has run the company with just as much passion as his father.

Boot Koffie will exist half a century in 2023, and they want to know it. On the facade on Laanstraat hangs a sign clearly stating this. The family business was founded in 1973 by Jacob Boot, father of current owner Barend (67). Since January 1, Darja Koster can call herself director. She takes over a number of daily tasks from Barend. Koster, by the way, is not new to Boot; she has been working there for fifteen years.

Boot Koffie is expert in carefully and personally picking out the right flavors of coffee. That sensitivity, taste awareness and knowledge is in all employees. They have tasted many cups of coffee for that! The depth of scents of real layered coffee can touch the soul. And give you a sense of happiness. All employees - and Boots clientele - also agree on that wholeheartedly. That's why Boot Koffie 's motto is: "Happiness through taste. The coffee farmer's happiness is also reflected in the flavors and aromas of the coffee. Every link in the process of making the coffee is done properly and fairly. And the coffee is naturally climate neutral. Something to be proud of.

Coffee only after or alongside a meal? No, it can also be served in it. The chefs of Capriole Café in The Hague and Het Lokaal in Amersfoort show how they cook with (good) coffee and they use it in many ways: espresso, ground coffee and processed in ice cream, a gel or a chip.

From the moment I came to work as a barista at the Boot store in Baarn four years ago, the Sumatra has been one of my favorite coffees. Those intense dark chocolate notes, that creamy sweetness and that soft acidity continue to charm me. As a pure espresso, the sweet, berry flavor notes stand out the most, but combined with milk, the chocolate stands out. Magic!

7 years ago our adventure began in Het Lokaal in Amersfoort as a coffee roaster and training room. Now that we have created more space in our warehouse in Baarn, we will move our 15 kilo roaster to Baarn.
