Special collaboration between Boot and the Kachalu Cooperative

Since 2019, we have taken a different path with the Kachalu cooperative with the goal of improving the quality of the coffee and getting a better price for the coffee farmer, based on 84 points or higher. It is a bonus system where the farmer gets more money for his coffee if the quality equals 84 points. The higher the score, the more money the farmer receives. This is how we, together with the cooperative, encourage the coffee farmer to take his coffee to the next level. For two years in a row now, Rick, Barend and Dennis jump 3 meters into the air when tasting the sample. You can clearly taste that the bonus system works and that the coffee is incredibly good as a result.

A cafetière/ push pot what is that?

A cafetière/push pot what is it?
The principle is very simple. A glass cylinder is filled with (freshly roasted) coarsely ground coffee. Hot water that has boiled is poured onto this. Note! The water must be off the boil, about 93 degrees. The coffee and water must be mixed well with a spoon. You let this mixture steep for about 4 minutes. Now you are going to push down the filter sieve unit (= metal sieve) with little force. Always do this gently! After all, you don't want the hot water from the push pot to end up on your hands or elsewhere. Hmm, your coffee is now ready to be poured.
