Taste, culinary theater with Dragan Bakema and me

Dragan Bakema is an extraordinary actor. He is also a fan of our coffee. And when I see Dragan with Boot coffee, I see absolute enjoyment. Then I see a momentum of happiness through taste.

When I heard about Dragan's solo role in the theater play Taste about 3-Michelin-starred chef Jonathan Kelvin losing his taste, I wanted to go there. I experienced the final try out last week. The world premiere of Taste in the Amsterdome was Saturday, October 9. *

Special collaboration between Boot and the Kachalu Cooperative

Since 2019, we have taken a different path with the Kachalu cooperative with the goal of improving the quality of the coffee and getting a better price for the coffee farmer, based on 84 points or higher. It is a bonus system where the farmer gets more money for his coffee if the quality equals 84 points. The higher the score, the more money the farmer receives. This is how we, together with the cooperative, encourage the coffee farmer to take his coffee to the next level. For two years in a row now, Rick, Barend and Dennis jump 3 meters into the air when tasting the sample. You can clearly taste that the bonus system works and that the coffee is incredibly good as a result.

Together we have brew up a bonus system where the farmer gets more money for his coffee, if the quality is equal or higher than 84 points. The higher the score, the more money the farmer receives. In this way, together with the cooperative, we encourage the coffee farmer to take his coffee to a higher level.
